LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–(NAB, Booth N7310) – NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of networking products that power businesses of all sizes, today announced three new AV over IP products that will be showcased at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) April 24-27 in Las Vegas. Introductions include the new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller app, which builds on the success of the groundbreaking AV GUI found in the M4250 series managed switches and two new smaller M4250 desktop switches to enable simplified installation in a range of space-constrained applications.
Together, the new products reinforce NETGEAR’s increased commitment to the AV over IP market, which has exploded over the past year as delivering high-quality, low-latency video and audio over an IP network has helped increase scalability and innovation throughout the AV Pro industry. .
The NETGEAR M4250 AV Line Series switches are unique in the industry with an innovative AV-oriented GUI. By removing all complex menus filled with mysterious computer network jargon, the AV GUI provides a simple AV template-based approach to changing configurations. This streamlined workflow allows AV integrators and installers to dive straight into projects with confidence that all network settings are correct for their AV application. This eliminates the steep learning curve and tedious configuration normally associated with network switch setups.
The new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller app extends this easy-to-use approach by delivering the same level of efficiency with full configuration of any M4250 or M4300 managed switch. With just a few clicks, users can configure these rugged switches for any AV over IP installation ranging from digital signage and wayfinding to entertainment venues, conference rooms and corporate lobbies, education, venues worship and more. Available next month, this new standalone software solution will be a free Windows, Mac and Linux application that users can use to configure and monitor NETGEAR’s powerful switches designed for AV over IP.
Desktop model M4250
Joining the new NETGEAR Engage™ Controller at this year’s NAB show are two new additions to the M4250 portfolio – compact desktop M4250 models. Since its launch, the M4250 AV Series of Managed Switches has redefined the benchmarks for the AV Pro industry, thanks to the AV-centric design, unique AV GUI and same out-of-the-box functionality as the popular M4300 switches. and M4500. From conference rooms to digital signage, the new M4250 desktop models are small enough to fit behind a monitor or under a conference room table, enabling full functionality in a compact form factor with the power needed for complex installations. .
Additional Product Specifications:
The new M4250-9G1F-PoE+ (GSM4210PD), targeting audio installations, is fanless and comes with 8 1G PoE+ ports and another standard 1G port as well as an SFP port for uplinks.
The companion model M4250-8G2XF-PoE+ (GSM4210PX) features adjustable fans and 8 1G PoE+ ports with 2 additional SFP+ ports for higher bandwidth uplinks needed in video installations.
“NETGEAR has continued to recognize the ongoing evolution in the world of professional AV and in particular the advances in AV over IP installations that are changing what is possible in our industry,” said Laurent Masia, Chief Operating Officer of the product line for managed switches at NETGEAR. “The latest example of our commitment to this space is a pairing of these new products that further elevates our managed switch product line and deploys an entirely new way of configuring switches uniquely designed with Pro AV in mind.”
