This list is a sample of crime in and around Sedalia. The information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

January 10

11:05 p.m.: John Alexander Zaremba, 57, of the 1600 block of Country Club Boulevard, was arrested after a traffic stop for failing to maintain a lane on South Limit Avenue near West Seventh Street. The driver was intoxicated and was arrested, transported to Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

January 11

12:20 a.m.: Dimitry Sheblanoff, 50, of the 200 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at South Limit Avenue and West Third Street for failing to maintain a lane. The driver was determined to be driving under the influence, was arrested and released on a summons.

12.49pm: Walter Vernon Baker, 51, of the 500 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after police were dispatched for assault. The victim had a laceration on the right side of his head and was eventually taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries. The suspect was arrested, transported to Pettis County Jail and held in custody for 24 hours pending third degree domestic assault charges.

2:32 p.m.: Dreyvin Jaquelynn Marcos, 24, of the 500 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for missing front license plates near East Fourth Street and South Lamine Avenue. The driver had a suspended driver’s license and was arrested, transported to the police department and issued a municipal ticket for driving with a suspended license.

8:15 p.m.: Colton Miner Ditton, 31, of the 900 block of Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business on the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to a violation of an order protection. The caller said two men she knew drove past the facility multiple times after finding her car outside. She made eye contact with both of them and they continued to drive very slowly. The suspect was located, arrested and taken into custody for 24 hours. A request for a charge of first degree harassment and violation of an ex parte order has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Incidents

January 11

6:27 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Truman Inn, 3501 W. Broadway Blvd., in reference to a property damage report. The victim said that during the night someone broke the window on the driver’s side of his truck.

3:49 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue for a burglary report. The suspects broke into an apartment and destroyed items. The suspects have not been contacted.

3:33 p.m.: An officer spoke with the victim on the phone in reference to a robbery. The victim said that over the previous weekend, a license plate was stolen from his vehicle in the 1800 block of South Summit Avenue. The license plate was registered as stolen.
