ShotSpotter, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSTI) today announced the availability of a major update to its patrol management software solution, ShotSpotter Login™. The upgrade includes powerful reporting enhancements, new data visualizations and a more modern interface to provide crime supervisors and analysts with key insights into patrol operations so they can better measure and evaluate strategies patrol and the tactics used by officers to deter crime.
ShotSpotter Connect gives law enforcement a more efficient, effective, and fair way to prevent crime and improve community engagement. With Connect, agencies can proactively allocate patrol resources to high crime risk areas for a specific shift and connect key non-law enforcement activities that correlate to crime prevention and reduction. With this upgrade, internal users such as analysts, command staff and supervisors can now compare crime trends and patrol dosage, generate shift reports and enhanced officers with summary metrics and create assay heatmaps to better analyze and improve the strategies they have in place to prevent crime in a transparent and unbiased manner.

Some of the new and improved features now available in Connect include:
- New Crime & Dosage report to compare crime trends with patrol dosage
- Ability to add agency-specific custom data layers from other sources to the map
- Adding heatmaps to quickly view aggregated patrol dosage showing where patrols have taken place in a previous period
- Newly designed and more modern interface
ShotSpotter Connect has already been upgraded at the end of 2020 to allow users in the field, such as patrollers, convenient access via mobile data terminals and smart phones. This improvement has provided agencies with better information before beginning a directed patrol and has led to higher utilization rates and better adherence to patrol strategies that deter crime.
